Work, Health and Safety laws require specific clothing be worn by a person in manual work zones to minimise risk to their health and safety. Where there is exposure to heat, sparks or open flames – a long sleeve cotton shirt and work pants are necessary. Where there is the chance of falling objects – steel capped work boots are essential. When present in a manual work zone, operating machinery or carrying tools and equipment – high visibility clothing is required. No deviation to material, styles or colour will be permitted at St Joseph’s Trades Skills Centre.

All uniform requirements can be purchased at your local Lowes or work-wear store. Only purchase the colour combination displayed below. Students must be in full work-wear uniform at the commencement of each lesson in St Joseph’s Trades Skills Centre. In the event of non-compliance, the student will risk non completion of competencies. This will be recorded by the teacher/trainer. All students are expected to watch demonstrations and practical work being conducted in the workshop from a safe distance in the event of uniform infringements. Repeat infringements will be treated seriously and may result in an incompetent grade and therefore jeopardise achieving the full certificate in the course.
